Removal of No Motorhome Signs

I have never seen any mess left by any camper and or motor homes, they are tourists who bring money into the village and the village should be welcoming them.

Camper vans bring money to the village and people have camped there for decades and nobody consulted the locals before the signs were put up.

I have parked and fished there for almost 40 years, worked in the area for 10 years and would now in retirement like to bring my campervan for overnight fishing stops.

Whilst not living within this community I am a very frequent visitor, this is an area I love and spend my money in, if I can't stay here then all it means is that I move elsewhere to another parish for their benefit.

This world is topsy-turvy enough without the minority of a small village trying to stop campervans and tourists parking on land with scenery to die for. Seems the majority of Ballantrae residents will continue to welcome those wishing to spend a night(s) in their village. I've also heard of underhand tactics of the minority asking motorhome owners to over their vehicle as they are apparantly parked illegally and saying their insurance will not be valid. The motor home/ campervan users are always respectful to the area and neighbours around them.
They even bring revenue into the village which in ready uncertain times is a good thing! What's wrong with letting everyone get on and leaving the tourists have their wee bit of R and R. If the minority are not happy then just pull your curtains and you won't see anything 🤭 I just hope this nonsense is cleared up quickly and the outcome backs the majority of Ballantrae residents and of course the campers. Thank you to the majority for welcoming everyone into your village. Just like those did over the years.... many many years ago 🙂

They do no harm and keep the village busy and solvent.

Welcoming visitors to the village is the right thing to do they don’t make any mess and bring much needed revenue to the local businesses

We visit family regularly in Ballantrae and it’s lovely to see how welcoming the people are, this is surely going to paint the village in an unfair light!

Leave the campers be, they are bringing revenue to your village and in these uncertain times they should be welcomed.

Since I have lived in Ballantrae visitors have , as in any fishing village, found the harbour to be a magnet, it's natural they want to overnight as near as possible, camping on the village green and enjoy it's natural beauty, I support the petion, and wish to see this continue.

Discouraging visitors to my home village. A little shocking really. Passing trade and holiday makers give the village economy a boost. Why would some people discourage that? Get them down and let the people come!
