Monty deserves the right to decide what happens. Not many ppl know him better than me & he is the strongest character I’ve probably ever known…. Monty is a very proud man & The thought of being quadriplegic would absolutely devastate him & he wouldn’t want to spend a second like that. His wishes have to be respectedColin Howell (Baldock, 2023-04-02)

People have a right to choose, no quality of life !! keeping someone alive against thier wishes is cruel.. Also an added strain on the NHS that is already on its knees and has been sabotaged by the Tories. Have some compassion, some common sense and some decency!!Sarah Griffiths (Cornwall, 2023-04-02)

My Son Ian has been active all his life & will struggle to cope with inactivity. He immediately agreed to have his life support switched off when a Doctor offered this option, to the family, in his presence. Ian is now deeply distressed as he can not understand why this option has been withdrawn. No Dad should have to make
such a decision about a beloved Son.

After consultation with all involved and where checks and balances have been discussed fully and the individual has capacity, it does seem perverse that as a society we keep someone alive despite that individual having no prospect of anything other than their remaining time on this planet in complete agony. To not act upon that individual’s wishes (to end their agony) just comes across as unnecessarily cruel. Surely as a society we can be better than that.Jason Lilley (Truro, 2023-04-05)
