Sepsi OSK fans are not racists!

To the attention of UEFA from the fans of Sepsi OSK.
During the football match between Sepsi OSK and NK Olimpija Ljubljana (2022. 07. 28.), a particular form of support was deemed by UEFA to be racist. We would also like to make it clear that our fan community has never tolerated any racist support. From the start, we consider racism in our community unimaginable, as the Sepsi OSK team has a multi-ethnic fan base. We encouraged and respected all of our players regardless of race or religion. The way of cheering is part of a locally accepted and practiced choreography. Starting from our hearts, we raise our hands towards the sky, chanting the name of our city. Although the given movement is similar to a certain arm swing, it is not nearly the same. We ask UEFA to take into account that our motivation is completely different from any kind of racism-based support and to take into account that certain similarities in the world do not mean the same intention. We would like UEFA to change its opinion of the given event and way of supporting it because we do not feel the current stigma that we are racists is appropriate.

Az UEFA figyelmébe, a Sepsi OSK szurkolóitól A Sepsi OSK és az NK Olimpija Ljubljana közötti labdarúgó mérkőzés során (2022. 07. 28.) az UEFA egy bizonyos szurkolási formát rasszistának ítélt a Sepsi OSK támogatóinak részéről. Szeretnénk egyértelművé tenni, hogy szurkolói közösségünk soha nem tolerált semmilyen rasszista megnyilvánulást. Kezdettől fogva elképzelhetetlennek tartjuk a rasszizmust közösségünkben, hiszen a Sepsi OSK csapatának többnemzetiségű szurkolótábora van. Minden játékosunkat bátorítjuk és tiszteljük, bőrszínre, nemzetiségre és vallásra való tekintet nélkül. A szurkolás szóban forgó kifejezése egy helyileg elfogadott és begyakorolt „koreográfia” része: szívünktől az ég felé emeljük a kezünket, városunk nevét skandálva. Bár az adott mozdulat hasonlít egy bizonyos, rossz emlékű karlendítéshez, sem szándéka, sem célja vagy üzenete tekintetében nem ugyanaz. Arra kérjük az UEFÁ-t, hogy vegye figyelembe: a mi motivációnk teljesen eltér mindenféle rasszizmusalapú szurkolástól, illetve azt is, hogy a világon létező bizonyos hasonlóságok nem ugyanazt a szándékot jelentik. Szeretnénk, ha az UEFA változtatna a véleményén az adott esetre nézve, mert nem érezzük helyénvalónak a jelenlegi megbélyegzést, miszerint rasszisták vagyunk. Üdvözlettel: a Sepsi OSK többnemzetiségű szurkolói közössége.

În atenția UEFA, de la suporterii echipei Sepsi OSK Cu ocazia partidei de fotbal dintre echipele Sepsi OSK și NK Olimpija Ljubljana (28. 07. 2022), observatorul UEFA a considerat ca fiind rasistă o manifestare de sprijin a suporterilor Sepsi OSK. Dorim să declarăm fără echivoc că în comunitatea noastră de suporteri nu este tolerată nicio manifestare rasistă. De la începuturi, rasismul este imposibil de conceput de către noi, deoarece echipa Sepsi OSK are o galerie multietnică. Noi încurajăm și respectăm la fel orice jucător al echipei noastre favorite, indiferent de rasa, etnia sau religia lui. Expresia în cauză a manifestării suporterilor Sepsi OSK este un element al unei „coreografii” acceptate și uzuale pe plan local: ridicăm mâna spre cer, pornind de la zona inimii, în timp ce scandăm numele orașului nostru. Cu toate că acest gest seamănă cu o formă sinistră de ridicare a brațului, este esențial că diferă de aceasta atât ca intenție, cât și ca scop și mesaj. Rugăm, deci, UEFA să ia în calcul următoarele: motivația noastră în acest sens este cu totul alta decât orice manifestare rasistă de sprijin, respectiv că unele similarități existente în lumea largă nu înseamnă în toate cazurile aceeași intenție. În consecință dorim ca UEFA să-și modifice opinia asupra acestui caz, deoarece considerăm ca fiind greșită eticheta actuală conform căreia noi am fi rasiști. Cu urări de bine: comunitatea multietnică de suporteri ai echipei Sepsi OSK.
