Protect Her Game is an independent advocacy and awareness organisation dedicated to protecting women and girls from sexual violence, harassment, grooming, intimidation, and abuse within sporting environments.

We believe every athlete deserves to train, compete, and thrive in an environment built on respect, dignity, and safety.

Our organisation works to raise awareness, support survivors, advocate for stronger safeguarding policies, and encourage accountability at every level of sport.

Why We Exist

Sport should empower people.

Instead, many women and girls have experienced sexual assault, harassment, coercion, grooming, intimidation, and abuse within sporting environments.

Too often survivors remain silent because they fear:

• Losing their place on the team.
• Not being believed.
• Damaging their careers.
• Public criticism.
• Retaliation.

In many cases, institutions have prioritised protecting reputations over protecting athletes.

Protect Her Sport exists to advocate for safer systems and ensure that survivors are heard, respected, and supported.

Our Petition

Protect Women and Girls in Sport

We call on sporting organisations, schools, clubs, governing bodies, governments, and communities to:

1. Adopt and enforce comprehensive safeguarding policies.
2. Ensure every report of sexual misconduct is investigated independently.
3. Temporarily remove individuals accused of serious sexual offences from positions involving athletes while investigations are conducted, where appropriate and consistent with due process.
4. Provide access to counselling and professional support services for survivors.
5. Require safeguarding education for all coaches, officials, volunteers, and staff.
6. Implement confidential and accessible reporting systems.
7. Hold organisations accountable when they fail to protect athletes or ignore reports of abuse.
8. Regularly review safeguarding procedures to ensure they remain effective and transparent.
