NO BAIL FOR THE ATTACKER/S OF OFFICER BRADLEY BEUKES

We are deeply shocked and outraged by the shooting incident in which Officer Beukes was shot and wounded on Thursday, 2 April 2026. This senseless act of violence highlights the serious risks faced daily by those who serve and protect our communities. An attack on a law enforcement officer is not only an attack on an individual, but an attack on the rule of law and the safety of society as a whole.

Through this petition, we call on the investigating officer and the prosecution authority to treat this matter with the utmost seriousness. We respectfully urge that bail be strongly opposed, given the gravity of the offence and the need to protect the public.

Furthermore, we ask that, should a guilty verdict be reached, the court impose the strongest possible sentence in accordance with the law. Justice must be served, and a clear message must be sent that violence against law enforcement officers will not be tolerated.

We stand in support of Officer Beukes and all those who dedicate their lives to upholding the law and ensuring the safety of our communities.
