It's my home Town and we need this!

Cutting services to a farely remote place such as this cannot be a good thing, I know these two engines are in demand as I have freinds who live in the area

As an ex firefighter, I find it disgraceful that a pump is to be removed from Withernsea endangering the remote public of Withernsea and even more importantly the firefighters that serve them. the chief could have blood on his hands.

I have family who live in the Withernsea area and the thought of them only having 1 appliance is very scary. Were there to be a house fire one appliance is not enough (I speak from experience) and the time it would take for a second appliance to arrive from another station will cost lives.

Can you put a price on saving one life. 90% of the time one appliance will be sufficient but how would the people in charge feel if they called out the fire service and were told it would be delayed as the only fire engine was already out on a call out, so they were calling one in from out of area.

Because it's important

1 in 4 call outs is a two pump shout

You cannot put a price on a life! We need them!
Guest#10 Jan 20, 2016, 08:48
Because I believe it's a right not an option
Guest#11 Jan 20, 2016, 08:53
We need another engine, back up is over 15 mins away and we pay for this in our council tax.
Guest#12 Jan 20, 2016, 09:09
Because I may need it one day .
Guest#13 Jan 20, 2016, 09:34
Because I used to live in Withernsea, my grandson and friends still live there, and it's their life's I am thinking about, and the villages around too.

It is an essential service from the brigade to be closer with a second appliance for places like the camp sites and also the big supermarkets. It would almost definately put lives at risk having to wait the extra time for an appliance to come from else where

To protect the community

Save withernsea Fire service
Guest#17 Jan 20, 2016, 10:04
Cutting these services will put lives at risk.

Although I now live in Sydney, I am a Holderness farmers son and grew up in Withernsea and surrounds, I know the importance of this critical infrastructure to the area.
Guest#19 Jan 20, 2016, 10:19
Because we are a small town and getting rid of a fire engine could
Take longer for another engine to come possibly resulting in death we need our fire engine
Guest#20 Jan 20, 2016, 10:20

We need the second engine in Withernsea. It would take too long on the winding counrty roads for an appliance to get to us from hornsea or another town.  Lives would be in danger if it is taken away. Plus the savings would not be all that much

New BA guidelines means it's vital to have 2 appliances at the scene in a matter of minutes 1 appliance can only be on the defensive until that second pump arrives. So there would be no entering a building until that second pump arrives I don't want to be the one to tell you that I cannot go in and rescue your family member/pet until the second pump arrives which could be up to ten mins

Because it is a vital part of this community, which covers a large area including the needs of residential, rural, and holiday parks. One appliance is unable to adequately cover such a large area and the available assistance is a good 30 minutes away traffic conditions permitting .

Firefighter safety should also be highlighted as well as public safety.
Guest#24 Jan 20, 2016, 12:27
Because I think it's important we keep as much of our emergency services, staff & vehicles as possible!
Guest#25 Jan 20, 2016, 12:51
Keep our appliance, once its gone , it gone for good.
