I feel very strongly that this would be a retrograde step for Royal Mail services. The Marple delivery office is much valued and well used. To move the service to Stockport would mean great inconvenience, especially to older residents and poorer service to the community where postmen and women would have to drive into Stockport, then back to Marple Bridge/Mellor through heavy traffic, meaning even later deliveries than the afternoon ones we currently have. It would also mean the need for additional Royal Mail vehicles for deliveries. A very poor idea.

I live in the Romiley area and I quite often have to go to the Bredbury sorting office to retrieve parcels for myself and my elderly next door neighbour if this facility is removed and I have to travel to a new location whose to say that the opening times are going to be applicable for those of us who are employed.

I rely heavily on the local sorting office both for business and private mail. This is an important service to Marple and the surrounding area and should not be closed down.

Local services are very important.

To save our delivery office
Guest#6 Aug 17, 2016, 16:56
Because I believe the Sorting Office is still needed.

Bredbury delivery office is vital for my business (Cranes the Jewellers) I get parcels of a very valuable nature every day. The staff are all conscientious, prompt and very friendly. We need to do everything we can to enable small business owners to continue to offer a personal service, and the post office is central to most of us.

I've lived in romiley and I know how important these places are for local people
Guest#9 Aug 17, 2016, 17:34
These offices are needed for the local residents as a nearby collection points. A lot of people rely on these offices...
Guest#10 Aug 17, 2016, 17:41
There are many people in the Bredbury/Romiley/Woodley and Marple areas who don't have transport so would therefore have to pay bus fare to get to Stockport! Both of these sorting offices are very important to the communities.
Guest#11 Aug 17, 2016, 17:44
If we didn't have Bredbury sorting office we would obviously have to travel further afield to pick up parcels and unless you have transport then this would cause problems more do for those without. It is a very valuable service for our area we have already lost local banks and this would be another nail in the coffin for our area.

Used to have a P O No. for the business. Heard about the possible closure some 3years ago. Tried to get some info from the Royal Mail Estates Department. They stated they did not have any info on the redevelopment of the site. Think Stockport MBC are the landlords. Understand another supermarket wants the site.

I use the Bredbury Sorting Office regularly in the course of running my small business restoring old vintage radios (Dab Hand Radio). Often I'm not in to receive a large parcel and have to go to collect at he Sorting Office. A trip into Stockport to do this, plus parking issues, would be harmful to me and my business. Please DON'T CLOSE this valuable local asset!

Another service being lost to the area
Guest#18 Aug 17, 2016, 19:37
We need this mail office, they are are all lovely people that work there. Also there will be nothing left around here. People will find it very hard to to get to other sites especially people with no car's, please save this place!!

To save bredbury post depot
Guest#20 Aug 17, 2016, 19:53
As a small local business and homeowner it's vital that the local sorting offices remain open
Guest#21 Aug 17, 2016, 20:07
Royal Maill should never have privatised! This deliveryoffice provides an excellent service for local residents and should remain open.
Guest#22 Aug 17, 2016, 20:19
Closing the Bredbury delivery office will increase the number of car journeys being made to Stockport, along already overcrowded roads. Surely the local policy should be to reduce traffic. Many people do not have access to a car and would be greatly inconvenienced by this proposal. The above is also true if the Marple office were to close. Coupled with school closures over the last decade and now a bank closure, possible more to come, in Romiley we are seeing vital services being withdrawn. The loss of the Royal Mail delivery office will be another step in the decline of the area. Please use your influence to prevent this from happening.

I need a local delivery office, I cannot travel far and always use the one at Bredbury and it is always busy
Guest#24 Aug 17, 2016, 20:46
I live in Romiley and use the sorting office regularly, it would not be practical for myself and many others to travel further afield to collect parcels etc. It is always very busy at Bredbury sorting office, surely a clear indicator of how vital it is to local residents
Guest#25 Aug 17, 2016, 20:46
I have to collect large parcel on a regular basis.
Closure would have a impact on my day to day life.
