The Officers of APFA work for the Membership as well as being paid trip removed Flight Attendants of AA. To me, as a Member of APFA either all retiring FA's need to be afforded equal rights with no discrimination, or none should. I also firmly believe that any Officer past who in error received A5 travel as payment for their service, be stripped of those unequal and divisive A5 travel priviledge.

The Company has no motivation to do the right thing in this instance. Why not offer our union leadership as many special benefits as possible? It is in the Company's interest to bribe our officers. It is in our membership's interest to STOP it! I urge all of my fellow APFA members to join together in protest of this blatant and immoral reward given to those whom we entrust to bargain for our livelihoods! If they continue this practice - giving premium to securing their own retirement at a higher value than what they have secured for the membership, nothing but harm to the membership will result. Refusing additional recompense should simply be a matter of good faith from our leadership. Correcting this conflict of interest from its inception will begin to provide definition to our leadership's true purpose and resolve any doubt that their fiduciary duty is involate. Any protest the membership has which is met with refusal, should and WILL become highly suspect. In a membership so dramatically divided, the only RIGHT THING TO DO is to regain our trust and UNITY in whatever way possible. Anything separate from our membership's direct interest has no true place from which to assert authority to negotiate on the our behalf.  With time, this power entrusted to our leaders will inevitably dissolve. unless a decision is made to stop this wholly inappropriate practice.

I am absolutely opposed to this 'perk' - no union officer should benefit above any line flight attendant - the antiquated language in the APFA C & B needs to change in many areas. A disgrace.

It is simple: What's good for the goose is good for the gander. Once a retiree, always a retiree and that means D2R for all retirees.  The A5 should be exclusive to working active board members while traveling to and from Union duties and at no other time.

AFA or Usairways never allowed such "perks" Just because it was a past practice by a company based union, it is illegal under a labor union. All passes for Union Leaders should not be allowed over and above the rank and file with retirement travel.

Our Union Officers should have the same privileges as our membership. They should travel in the same category as any other F/A unless they are specifically traveling for Union Business purposes. When they are no longer a Officer for the Union, then they travel as a member F/A.

Our signatures are a must on this petition. Our union officers need to work only on our behalf. The company hires executives to be loyal. Don't allow them to also have the loyalty of our union officers,

Why should APFA officers get positive space passes when we retire when we have taken hits in both retirement D3s frozen retirement money and concessions in our contract. NO WAY.

This petition MUST also rescind all higher priority passes that have been given, that the F/A's they work for, don't get. AA can have them use whatever boarding priority that they want while they are in office and it is for BUSINESS TRAVEL ONLY.
