This is the justice system gone mad. A man in Bolton has recently got away with starving a dog to death yet they jail a man for feeding birds ???
Guest#127 May 30, 2014, 14:58

Imprison people who are cruel to animals, not people who are kind to them. If the pigeon population are a problem in the area, then it's up to the council to do something about it. Sending a kindly man to prison will not solve anything. Pure laziness.

People are getting away with animal cruelty and walking free from court all this pensioner has done is feed birds for god sakes let the poor man out its not the place for someone like him

Unbelievable!!
Guest#133 May 31, 2014, 10:36
Ridiculous that this man has been sent to prison, when there real criminals out there who get away with much worse crimes on a daily basis.
Guest#134 May 31, 2014, 12:21
What kind of madness is this?
Guest#135 May 31, 2014, 18:04

A bloody disgrace ..wasted money and a jail term and stress for a man who only cares for these birds! Others a found to cause animal suffering and cruelty get off lighter than this!!!
APPALLED AT SOCIETY..LAWS APPLY TO SOME AND NOT OTHERS!! RELEASE THIS INNOCENT MAN NOW!!!
SHAME ON YOU!!

Guest#136 May 31, 2014, 20:37
Free this elderly gentleman, and let him be!! shame on you, who take away his only pleasure...
Guest#137 May 31, 2014, 20:51
This situation needs a workable solution to help all concerned. Having a man in jail for feeding birds is over the top reaction to a situation which could be effectively managed.

local birdman john wilkinson should never of got an ASBO for something has a done for years. he has had to put up with his house being vandalised and getting harrassed by kids for years but nothing gets done about it. john lives in a boarded up house which he wont get repaired as his house will be a target again. please can we all get together to do his house up and install cctv so he can get his life back. also can we all gather together to welcome him home when he is released. thankyou

Breaking the law

He broke the law. And all you pathetic people on Facebook need to get a grip. Especially you Rita. After your 15 minutes of fame are you?! He is vile, foul mouthed and he sticks of urine. I hope when he comes out. He goes straight back inside
Guest#148 Jun 02, 2014, 12:32
Education and practical support, not punishment, is required in a situation like this. I do not know the gentleman in question, but I worry how well the man will cope in prison, when the most serious crime he has committed is to feed pigeons. We have a moral duty to support this man's freedom. I am shocked and horrified at the inhumanity that placed him in confinement in a potentially psychologically unsafe environment, for him. Please free him immediately.

Subject

There is an inbalance that has been taken out of context here, the rights of his neighbour lets say 50 in close vicinity have been over ridden by narrow minded do gooders, that why the ASBO was taken out, so its not victimisation of one guy, its up hold the rights of 50 others.
