Hate to point this out but..you're not mature enough to use correct grammar? As students at the school, we feel we have a right to express our views and to be listened to. We feel we have a right to be involved in decisions made about the school, especially ones that affect us. Since the Student Council was shut down, this has become a lot harder. This is us expressing our views.

We could express them in a very immature way, like not turning up to school at all or by causing a lot of disruption, but we have chosen a way that helps bring members of the school together and that displays our views in a clear, but mature way.

Mobile phones don't affect your education at all at lunch/break, but at lunch/break it isn't a time to be 'learning' anyway so the ban for this is un-necessary

Again..you're still not using very good grammar. And please read this website, which will explain what rights we have.

LOOK! Lets get this straight. The fact of the matter is that none of us really care about our phones being taken away as much as we care about the fact that this school is turning into a goddamn prison! We have no freedom and we deserve it! Doors to parts of the school get locked at break and lunch! That just goes to show how much the school trust us! It's beyond ridiculous!

i am afraid you have little understanding of human rights if you are trying to apply them to your mobile phone.

We are not trying to apply it to our mobile phones! We are applying it to the fact that we deserve freedom of speech!

No, we are not applying them to our mobile phone. We are trying to use this right:

  • "the right to have their views respected and to have their best interests considered at all times

A large part of this is that we don't feel listened to, or like we are respected and trusted. We are trying to tell the school our views, and to work with the staff to make Seaford Head a place where people are happy to go to and learn at. At the moment, this isn't really happening.

If we need to use our phones to contact our parents, we should be able to in our free time, i.e lunchtimes and break. It seems silky that because of a small mass of people abusing this usage. Regularly I need to use my phone to contact my parents and let them know whether I am getting the bus or going to an after school activity.
