GET SOME STICKERS AVAILABLE AND GIVE THEM AWAY IN THE STREETS OF NEWTON ABBOT FOR PUBLIC TO STICK ON THEIR CARS.. NOT IN THE MARKET AS THIS IS CONTROLLED BY TEIGNBRIDGE.

It's difficult to take sides without knowing all the details. I've had a farm in France for 20 years and for some years I ran a baling/wrapping operation. The other contractors never put signs on their machines regarding the racial origins of their staff, and I never heard a racially based comment. You're judged by the standard of your work and the cost. Doesn't this apply to taxi driving? If you have to be born in Newton Abbot to get to know the road network…..well, pull the other one!
On the other hand the nitpicking narrow mindedness of local administration is very irritating.

Americans have their flags of the United States flying outside their homes. Moslem women sometimes wear Hijabs,Abayas or Chadors. In fact religious people often wear a religious habit and/or cross. People wear all sorts of badges, masons, British legion, cancer support etc
Live and let live if it causes no harm.

Teignbridge Council are behaing like the former East German Stasi. Will they go around removing 'local' from all shop fronts? How they love to waste the Councl Tax revenue.

The amount of people in this country who feel that they are 'being hemmed in' by 'politically correct' restrictions and woolly-headed, cowardly administration - to the point where 'they are being squeezed out' - is interesting.
I am one of them.
These administrators would do well to note the old saying, "Beware the anger of a patient man!"

How much more 'politically correct' bullying are we to take? Will we ever get back to the state where this country, renowned for its tolerance, showed a sense of humour AND COMMON SENSE!

If the words 'local driver' offend foreigners then lets get rid of the titles of Local Council, Local MP, Local Plan, etc. This whole farce is due to political correctness gone mad in Teignbridge council. And they've only had ONE complaint - and that was by a rival taxi firm employing a number of 'non-locals' !!!!

I thought we were supposed to promote local products and support local services?

Fantastic to see that there are some patriotic people left in this country, well done you! Be proud to be British!

it's the fag of our country why should you not be able to fly your country's flag,...if not please tell me why not,if you can't fly the flag of your own country, then were the hell can you fly it.

Please let this lady continue to earn her living without harassment. She has every right to display the flag and you should be proud that she does. You should be ashamed of your treatment of a law abiding, hard working citizen.

The members of council responsible for this situation need to be ready to resign when Denise wins the court case.

If Brits complained the council would ignore us and call us racists .

I think things have just got so out of control,the government aint got a clue how to make things right.And this lady's bread and butter is being challenged here in a very petty way,due to the fact she is a patriot,Are they going to stop flying union jacks outside police stations and civic halls especially in the court's of the land,not forgetting Buckingham palace.This is ridiculous to say the least!!!!

This is the UK and we should be allowed to fly our flag with pride.
