Because of the importance of this issue to local people such applications should be decided in the open with the opportunity for the local community to make its views known and for the elected representatives to make decisions in light of these representations. Otherwise what is the point of the planning system and inspectors putting conditions in place if they are going to be manipulated in this way as they have been over the last four bank holidays.

We need to ensure that Veolia and ESCC do not take advantage of the power provided to them by ESCC planning dept.

Typical Veolia, never satisfied and constantly pushing to get what they want irrespective of the lives of the residents who live nearby. (Even though East Sussex County Council seemed to think there were no near neighbours when they granted themselves planning permission to build the Tory Incinerator!)

I hope the community will be listened to and decisions made according to their wishes and not ignored as was the case when this monstrosity was built.

It's ridiculous and sadly predictable that Veolia would try and push this through. Lets hope the planning committee have some form of conscience on this latest attempt to further undermine the well being of the environment and local community.
