#1 Reasons for Objections

We strongly object to the Aldi proposal. This is a plea to the planning committee to take note of a few things when looking at this proposal.

The A435 is already a busy 40 miles per hour zone which drivers do not stick too and so we have had a number of traffic accidents and fatalities on this road. This will only increase if Aldi moves in.
As residents we have to live with thundering lorries going up and down this road which is not going to improve with Aldi coming here.

We have schools which are less than a mile away and children who live in Kings Coughton that would like to walk and cross the road safely to school. This is already difficult and having Aldi move in will mean it will be even more difficult.

Kings Coughton is a Hamlet which we would like to preserve. Adding an Aldi will take that history away from Alcester.

We already have an Aldi in Studley and one in Stratford-upon-Avon. Studley has traffic jams on the island near Aldi when the car park is full. I have seen tail backs up the high street.

If Aldi feels they need another outlet then they should situate in Alcester industrial estate.
