A serious injustice has been done to Watford Girls Centre of Excellance. FA, don't be a "FIFA" and do the Right thing!

The fa say they want 2 improve the standard of girls football but by decreasing the number of centre of excellences is minimising the standards as girls won't get the same chances also watford is one of the best centre if excellences who produce many young female footballing starts

I was involved with Watford FC CofEx for a couple of years and they taught me so much. I felt as if I was a part of a football family and they helped me to get where I am now.
The centre is so special - it's a great shame to see it go when other centres still exist. Thess players are too talented for grassroots football.

They should be encouraging and developing women's football.  It is a disgrace to close down known and trusted clubs!

Watford FC support ALL the local community with out any discrimination at all, the FA is forcing WFC to discriminate, appalling behaviour from a victorian archaic bunch of self motivated people that should know better - SHAME ON YOU

Sort it out FA! Get your own house in order before criticising others!

At a time when the government is trying to encourage children to be more active and also develop sports men & women for the future, this is a travesty. If you are closing something replace it with something else that is better and as accessible for these children. We should be developing more opportunities for the young not cutting services. I would Luke a response to this with full details of your rationale and plans to bridge the gap this is leaving. Thank you.

Watford have one of the best girls football set ups in the country. It makes no sense for them not to be a highly capable school of excellence. The impact on the existing girls would be terrible, many would simply leave football

Watford have run a very successful centre of excellence which as a formal sports dvlopment officer that worked with watford to promote girls and womans football. losing their licence is a massive mistake that the FA have made.

the girls should have the same right as the boys otherwise it's not fair

If the decision to cut 20 centre's is because girls are not reaching the 'excellence' expected, then why have no male centre's been closed especially after England's woeful display in South Africa last year.  Girls and Ladies football is at a far better standard internationally than men's so the Centre's ARE doing something right.  Come on FA or a charge of sexual discrimination is in the offing!!!!

We need lots more places like this if we are to compete with the rest of the world, how shortsighted of the FA

big mistake FA! The girls centre is quality and the only one of its kind in hertfordshire. If you have to close some down, close the ones in areas with loads of centres! seems logical really.

This action appears to be a serious error of judgement, and an action against women. It needs to be recinded at the earliest opportunity.

Another act of absolute madness from the faceless bureaucrats at the FA.

Ten years of hardwork and a Centre of Excellence truly worthy of the name destroyed at a stroke by those who just do not understand the folly and consequences of their actions.

What's more they don't even have the guts to stand up and account for their decision.

Just what are the FA playing at. The decision to in effect close the Centre of Excellence at Watford, as well as those at places like Reading, Notts Forest, Charlton and Fulham is absolute madness and will set the womens game back rather than improve it.

Please, if someone rich is reading this..... could you help by funding legal action to get this decision rescinded. The FA should not be allowed to move the goalposts, in the form of the selection criteria, midway through the process. That is not just and should be overturned.

The FA must keep Watford FC Girls Centre of Excellence. They have done a fantastic job and produced some remarkable talent. It's also great for the community too!
