Weston-Super-Mare needs a Primark store. Right now, local shoppers have to travel to other towns and cities to buy affordable clothing, basic household items and everyday fashion that many families depend on.
This is more than an inconvenience. The cost of living has made value shopping even more important, and people with tight budgets should not have to spend extra time and money just to access low-cost essentials. The lack of a Primark in town affects families, students, young workers, older residents and anyone without easy access to a car.
A Primark in Weston-Super-Mare would keep spending local, bring more people into the town centre and give residents a practical, affordable shopping option close to home. It could also benefit nearby cafes, shops and services by increasing footfall and encouraging people to stay in the area for longer.
We are asking Primark’s property and expansion team, working with North Somerset Council and local commercial partners, to actively explore opening a store in Weston-Super-Mare and to identify suitable town-centre premises as soon as possible. If a full-size store is not immediately possible, Primark should still set out a clear timeline for assessing the town and moving the project forward.
Weston-Super-Mare is a growing seaside town with a strong local customer base and a clear need for more affordable retail choice. A Primark here would not just be a welcome addition; it would make everyday shopping easier for residents who currently have to leave town to buy sensibly. The request is straightforward: bring Primark to Weston-Super-Mare and give the town the affordable shopping option it needs.
