The show was opened by the Phil Ingall Orchestra, followed by an Hawaiian comedian; Sterling Mossman. Then there were performances of Boots Randolph (sax) , Floyd Cramer (piano) and The Jordanaires (vocal) before country comedian, Minnie Pearl hit the stage. Finally after the break, Rear admiral Robert L. Campbell introduced Elvis on stage. Elvis wore his gold lame jacket and black dress pants. This would be the last time Elvis would ever wear the gold lame jacket. The concert itself would become the last performance on stage till Elvis return on stage, almost 8 years later in Las Vegas in 1969. The show raised nearly $65,000 for the USS Arizona Memorial building fund. This show created one of the biggest private donations to the memorial.

Yes Elvis may have had an issue that led to his death of perscription drugs He loved Hawaii he served his country proudly and above all else he was human. He also believed in God and was the most generous person it was ok to take his money to preserve the memorial how disrespectful to remove his name

Elvis Presley served his Country for 2 years and helped to make this memorial possible not to mention how he contributed financially to it and also the Cancer benefit he did in Hawaii. if anyone deserves his name on it he does, please reinstate his name, this is a injustice to his giving heart.

I signed this petition because of Elvis' generosity of raising money for the USS Arizona memorial. Elvis gave a lot of money to help people in our country and was a good human being. He deserves to be recognized for his kin, generous, and living spirit.

Elvis' personal conviction was evident when he helped raise money for this project, he was a true patriot and a good man. His personal struggles were his own, he was charitable to a fault, and I didn't know about the removal.....what a disgrace!

Elvis's name should never have been removed
from the plaque for the U.S.S Arizona Memorial.
He was a pivotal source to having this memorial for all of us to see.
Please reinstate his name where it should so rightly be!!!

What a slap in the face to Elvis!! He served his country!! He was a great man, what a disservice to his memory! He was constantly giving to others! He was a great humanitarian! He is not here anymore to speak for himself!! Who came up with the bright idea to remove him anyway???? SMH!!!!

Elvis is my all time favorite person in or out of show business and should be honored for the service he gave for his country.

Elvis Presley was the best singer and entertainer from the 50s till his death. He deserved it.
