I enjoyed Sweden (Vasteras) for two winter seasons and was impressed with their pride in preserving the material past.
To destroy this building must fly in the face of public opinion.

I am of the same heritage as Wingo came from the Swedish name Vinge after our peoples came to what became County Rutland, England from the clan of William the Conqueror thru Wrolf the Walker thru Radnor Lothbrok from times long past in the World before.

Heritage is something we must hold on to. It's something we all need to know to be able to connect with ourselves.

This is a culturally important site with a lot of beauty & character. The history & architecture are significant and the efforts to preserve the site and its mission should be supported by anyone that cares about social memory and spirit of space.

My ancestry is Viking. I would be sad to see my history destroyed.

It is good to preserve the memory of past times for both the direct descendants of Vikings and those from other cultures. I would visit this site as a descendant of Swedish immigrants to the New World...

My entire family is from Sweden. It is the historic pivot from which I have daily circled my entire life. The Ale Vikinghomestead, just outside Göteborg in Bohuslän, which is where my father lived before coming to the United States. My morfar came from Klädesholmen which is also not far away.

I am far away, however. But when I dance and wear my Tjörn Folkdräkt, my leather soled shoes may be in the United States but my feet walk in Sweden. And all historical documents in Sweden, actual or reconstructed, are the lodestone to my pivots as it is for all Swedish Americans.

Tak,

Leonard Seastone (Sjösten)

PS: "Seastone" is a good name, but sorry it was changed when such changes devoured the past in this melting pot of America.

My grandparents all were born and lived there lives on farms. They were the last to have done so. This farm is a link to the land for the generations. The loss of this farm would be felt by those unknowing generations, irreplaceable.

If you are young you are likely to have little interest in the history of your own environment, let alone the universe in general. But one day you may have children and will understand and respect your Elders efforts to maintain your heritage. Please protect your your rights and obligations

I'm interested in the viking era and have lived in Gothenburg for almost 3 years and never even heard about this homestead before
