Deliver reliable Vuma Fibre to Mpumalanga township now

V Viwe Xulu · ZA

Vuma/Webafrica Fibre’s constant outages in Mpumalanga township are disrupting daily life, work, and access to essential online services. Residents should not have to keep guessing when the connection will drop again or whether the internet will be available long enough to finish basic tasks.

I work from home, and I have tried reaching out to managers to get a clear picture of why this keeps happening. The lack of reliable answers makes the problem worse, because it leaves households dealing with repeated interruptions without any explanation, timeline, or visible plan for improvement. When the network goes down again and again, people lose hours of work, miss deadlines, and are left carrying the cost of a service they cannot depend on.

The impact reaches far beyond one home. The community of Mpumalanga township suffers immensely during these downtimes, and many other people are likely facing the same pressure I am: interrupted employment, blocked communication, delayed schoolwork, and the stress of not knowing when service will return. If nothing changes, this will continue to harm incomes, productivity, and trust in the service.

Vuma and Webafrica executives and managers must treat this as a service reliability issue, not an inconvenience. The network needs a clear investigation, consistent maintenance, and a direct line of communication to residents when faults occur. People need a stable connection they can plan their lives around.

We are asking Webafria and Vuma’s executives and managers to urgently fix the recurring outages in Mpumalanga township and to provide residents with a clear service-recovery plan, including the cause of the problem, the steps being taken to correct it, and a realistic timeline for restoring dependable connectivity. That response should be given without further delay, because every additional outage deepens the damage already being done.

This is about basic reliability and accountability. Mpumalanga township deserves internet service that works consistently, supports work from home, and does not keep leaving the community disconnected.
