Stop importing honey; Buy South African

The import of honey is big business to a few, but negatively impacts the South African farmers and consumers.

It is hard to find good quality honey since the shops and supermarkets are overstocked with fake and imported honey.

By law, all imported honey needs to be irradiated to control diseases.

Therefore, it does not make sense to pay honey prices for, basically syrup, and syrup prices for the real makoya with actual health benefits.

With fuel prices going up; diminishing flora; hybrid seeds and pests increasing every year, it is harder to produce a honey harvest, but even harder to sell in bulk because of the cheap imported honey.
