Luton South permit parking extension.

We the undersigned wish Luton Borough Council to create extensions of the Permit Parking zones for the following areas as per what has already been implemented successfully in other areas of Luton South.

1. The whole length of Tennyson Road LU1 from London Road to the crossroads of West Hill Road, over the crossroads and down Tennyson Road to Albert Road, LU1, both sides of the road with appropriate signage.

2. The whole of West Hill Road, LU1 from the Cutenhoe Road end, both sides of West Hill Road down to London Road with appropriate signage.

The parking in this area is causing huge issues:

1. Locals cannot park anywhere near their own homes which whilst not a given, is desirable.

2. Illegal parking of cars, vans & trucks on double yellow lines. Ditto vehicles without tax, MOT and sometimes, insurance being dumped on our roads.

3. Vehicles parking up to save on airport parking fees whilst the owners go on holidays - and long trips overseas. This is only going to get worse given the recent permission to expand the airport.

People parking up on both roads to then catch the bus to London, or the train.

4. Vandalised and abandoned cars dumped on these two roads.

5. The plethora of HMO properties means the roads are gridlocked and full most of the time as there are simply too many vehicles now per household.

6. Many, many commercial vehicles parking here despite the vehicle owners not living in these two roads. Up to Luton van size, and including car transporters.
