Stop Dove Barn Development

Kings Lynn & West Norfolk Borough Council has received a licence application to use a three acre field known as Dove Barn Meadow on the A134, Northwold, Norfolk, as an outdoor venue for what will mainly be music events. The application is for permission to hold these events including alcohol sales from 11am to midnight, Monday to Sunday throughout the year, for up to 4,999 people.
Northwold and Whittington Parish Council has lodged objections to the application on the four permitted grounds. There is clearly potential for alcohol and drug related behaviour resulting in crime and disorder on site and on neighbouring property. For the same reason, as well as potential numbers of people on a small site, public safety and public nuisance are also issues. At a small "trial" event in September, the music was heard three miles away, and was unbearable for the immediate neighbours, who also reported people from the event urinating and defecating on their land.
Dove Barn Meadow is a totally inappropriate site for such events
