The area next to the dam looks like a picnic spot and afterwards it looks like a dump site. Loud music and partying. Unacceptable

Mara Venter (Alberton, 2020-09-26)

The public drinking and partying happens well into the night and the retirement village residents have to endure loud music, cars spinning and speeding off. It is an eye sore when we drive by, especially the day after when all the litter is left on the grass.

I Believe It should be closed off as every Sunday there is illegal gatherings that include drinking. Also becomes Dangerous to all the residents in the area that use the fields to walk their dogs.

This has been an issue for a long time now. I've even seen metro police sitting there in their vehicles after leaving the liquor store across the road. I've seen large marquee tents erected there for private parties. This is not a party venue. The people that park there play loud music, drink in public and then leave all their rubbish lying on the lawn. It is a disgrace that this matter hasn't been raise before.

Ettienne Van Den Heever (Johannesburg, 2020-09-28)

I grew up in Kritzinger rd; that space was on my route home from school and I would assume still being used as such. Vehicles with no clear purpose loitering increases risk of abduction of minors.
Vehicles loitering with no stated purpose increases risk of other opportunity crimes in the area
This space directly fronts residential area as well as retirement village - and should be allowed the dignity of not having to listen to loud shouting and cacophony of music over weekends
The multitude of vehicles I have observed parked there over weekends is excessive creating all sorts of other public health and safety risks
AFIAK not designated as a recreational space breaches municipal bylaws and strictly speaking - occupants of these vehicles are loitering
There are very few green spaces in that area specifically; as a child we used to play in that space; knowing the risks presented by these vehicles I would definitely not allow my children to go down to the stream or for that matter to walk past there to Alberton dam; also something what I used to do as a child.
