ماماها به عنوان عضوی از گروه پیشگیری و درمان، که از لحظه تولد تا دوران یائسگی همراه با زنان جامعه بوده و ارتباط سرشار از اعتمادی را با آنها دارند؛ یکی از اولین و مهمترین افرادی هستند که با مسایل زناشویی زوجین روبرو می شوند وحیطه کاریشان پتانسیل آموزش، پیشگیری و درمان در زمینه مسایل جنسی را دارا است. فارغ التحصیلان کارشناسی ارشد رشته « مشاوره در مامایی» در طول تحصیل در مقطع کارشناسی ارشد با گذراندن واحدهای تئوری و عملی در زمينه هاي مختلف امور جنسي زنان از توانمندی لازم در زمینه مشاوره جنسی برخوردار هستند. از آن جا که در مسایل زناشویی علاوه بر مشکلات روانی، اختلالات و بیماریهای جسمی نیز نقش دارد؛کارشناسان ارشد رشته مشاوره در مامایی، باتوجه به شرح وظایفشان، تنها گروه ارائه دهنده مشاوره هستند که اجازه معاینات جسمی همزمان با کار مشاوره را دارند. لذا ما دانشجويان و فارغ التحصيلان رشته مشاوره در مامايي خواهان ایجاد فرصت ادامه تحصیل در مقطع دکتری تخصصی سلامت جنسی هستيم
