We also live in Albrecht street and even late at night you can hear people racing, and spinning around the circles.

I support road safety. People must not die and we remain quiet about the obvious risks.

We live in Albrecht street and this is a daily battle to get out of your driveway. People speed like hooligans and we have numerously requested speed bumps or traffic people, without any luck. Please someone, why bumps in Langenhovenpark and all over but not here?

Guest#10 Oct 18, 2016, 20:24
The speed of the vehicles coming down Albrecht street towards the Preller circle is putting everyone's life in danger. Pedestrians, scholars and other vehicles are at the mercy of drivers coming over hill and travelling at high speed. Speed bumps would be a blessing.

Very good thing....
Guest#12 Oct 18, 2016, 20:42
I live in Louw Wepener str Dan Pienaar & it is also used as a race track despite the speedbumps

I live in Albrecht Street. It is becoming more and more dangerous to pull out the driveway as cars ignore the speedlimit. During weekends (at night) the street is used for a racetrack. We literally sometimes freeze up as we hear cars skidding and sliding. We hold our breaths that they would hit the island and not our fence. Willem Postma school is in this street. There are children walking to school and back. They risk there lifes crossing the street!

Albrecht Street is an accident waiting to happen.

I stay in York Road. I have seen very bad and fast driving many times in Albrecht Street and also at the circle at Preller Plain on my way there and back. Milner Road and York Road is just as bad and with many accidents - 3 in York Road in the last year where I heard the crash and was on the scene within a minute from where we stay.

My kids are in Willem Postma and every morning dropping them off and picking them up at school is a risk!
Guest#17 Oct 19, 2016, 05:46

Three of the main steets in Dan Pienaar  (Genl Dan Pienaar, Genl Hertzog & Albrecht) has become raceways and puts the neighborhood at great risk. Can we please get our Councilors to assist us as residents??

Children are going to be killed the way people drive in this street council has had pathetic excuses re traffic calming measures. There is no price to a life!! I will partake in any protest i this regard!!
Guest#24 Oct 19, 2016, 07:57
The way people drive in Albrecht is simply criminal !! Excuses put forward for not installing traffic calming measures are pathetic to say the least !! there is no price for a life !! A child is going to get hurt or killed it is a matter of time. we can not let rules or bylaws supersede common sense or subject us to life threatening risks !
