It seems as if in the UK the let off animal abusers with a tiny fine and kill innocent dogs because they look like they may be vicious. It is the people who are killers in this case, NOT the sweet dog.

Please get the DNA test ASAP. I would hazard a non-medical opinion that the breed, if contained in the results, will be so minimal that freedom can be the only verdict. I'll keep the whole family in my prayers.

This is ridiculous. The council should at least have to pay for dna testing and wait for the results to prove he is a pit before ruling to have him put down.

This is awful. I would think that the psychological damage of losing a beloved family member would outweigh the minimal risk of the dog attacking (which hasn't been shown to be greater than the risk posed by any other dog, since the dog's breed is unconfirmed and by all accounts - including the police - the dog is gentle and loving). I hope the appeal is successful.

I am a dog owner. He doesn't look pit to me. I think is more pit in the person that make this decision.

The law banning pit-bulls from residence with children is discriminatory, unjust & ignorant. I work in dog rescue where I have experienced so many gentle loving Pit-Bulls. My daughter could not imagine growing up without the two pit-bulls we call Family.

The dog is beautiful. The only problem is polititians. Geoff Earl is a politition, inhumane at that, even the police agree the dog is docile. They took the dog away because a little girl who loves him lives there. Heil Hitler-sound familiar? Rights are taken away. Nazi Germany -that's what you become when you do this. If I misspell polititian, I get it mixed up with pollution.

No dog should be judged my breed, I have seen some of the meanest looking pitbull here @ my job, but they are the sweetest dogs I have ever meet. Teddy has a right to live just like we do!

Animal cruelty is not the answer to what these people want to happen. They should instead educate themselves about what causes the issues. What they are doing is nothing different from racial profiling in humans. They do not deserve to occupy the seat of power if they are not even interested in educating themselves.

Those ppl are Not long at the whole picture.. This dog is part of their family... Has Not done anything wrong.. Has been giving and receiving live all his life... This is just sadning and I don't think they should have taken the dog just because of a super station they might have. If the want a dog DNA test fine but they can't take a dog of super station they might have AND they can't take a dog without a wrong full doing like biting or any of that matter. But sence they don't have anything on the dog about aggression or attacks they need to give the dog back to the right family and apologize to the family.

Dogs and all animals are innocent...politicians judge about creatures they don`t know...they think they know them...but they don`t...it`s all about prejudice...one dog fail...all others had to suffer for it...what if a politician fail...are all guilty now? NO...so dogs...do not judge a creature for it`s breed...or religion...or skin colour...etc. LET`S STOP THIS MADNESS
