A dog that has not shown aggression should have the right to live. It is blatant profiling of a dog due to its breed, it's the equivalent of saying all Muslim's are terrorists. Once again the law proves its ignorance.

I hope and prey for him, I'm a dog owner myself and my heart goes out to all of you xx
Guest#454 Mar 14, 2016, 08:53
The dog is innocent and a much loved loyal pet. It's disgusting that they want to put him down for a name of breed.
Guest#455 Mar 14, 2016, 08:59
If a dog is happy in its home and the home owners are happy, you can't just take this dog away from them, any dog can be dangerous depending on how it's been brought up and if I were to see this dog on the street I wouldn't be afraid or cross the road, these dogs are loyal and trustworthy, they see their owner as their ruler, their boss, they will always listen to their owner, these type of dogs aren't bad, trying to kill an innocent dog is just as bad as an abusive owner mistreating their dog, it's ABUSE.

Every animal shouldn't be prejudged, but given the right to unbiased review. Especially, with no prior misconduct. I believe how a dog is raised in a nurturing environment that will determines it's aggression.

It is cruel and unethical to kill a dog simply because of its physical appearance..
Guest#458 Mar 14, 2016, 09:12
Because it is wrong that this loving dog has been taken away from his family that loves him for doing absolutely nothing wrong. Please return him to his family.

BSL is the most unreasonable, unfair, and unjust law, that targets one of the very best breeds in the world. Why do you think they were referred to as "nanny dogs?" Why is it, that this mans daughter uses Teddy as a pillow? Do you seriously believe, that he, or any parent with a Pitty, would endanger their child?
These dogs are so incredibly gentle, by nature. They adore their people. They want to please, and be near them.. like lap dogs. I've been around many pit bulls (Staffies) and not once have I met one that was the least bit aggressive.
Please, put yourself in this mans place. And be honest ... none of you would want to break your child's heart. This is a family member you want to destroy, for no reason!
It's not fair, nor is it MORAL. What you're proposing to do is wrong, and will leave a family shattered. Do the right thing. Send Teddy home with his people.

Any dog can be a threat it all depends on the owner would the judge have made the same decision if it was a Labrador no he wouldn't even though Labradors can be evil my Staffie was attacked by one when she was a puppy but surprise surprise it was the staffies fault even though she was 8 months old and a quarter of the size. Teddy obviously loves his family and the only time he would be a threat was if his family were in danger.
Guest#468 Mar 14, 2016, 09:50
Please allow Teddy to come home. Why kill an innocent dog. That is just cruel and unjust. And a heartless act. Prayers for Teddy and his family. Teddy is a family member.
Guest#469 Mar 14, 2016, 09:53
I think it's unfair we can decide an animals death over its breed and I don't want the family to go through that sorta pain.
Guest#470 Mar 14, 2016, 10:07
No innocent pet deserves discrimination
Guest#471 Mar 14, 2016, 10:32
Would you sentence all people over 5 ft 9 with black hair to death just because they were in that group? No ! So why put a dog down that hasn't done any harm ?? Just because it's a certain breed, unjust!
Guest#472 Mar 14, 2016, 10:33
Scandaleux que les autorités veuillent faire euthanasier Teddy, chien de famille avec enfant dont son seul défaut est de race Pitbull

Breed specific legislation is ignorant, ineffective, and utterly misguided. Its application in this case is typically ham-handed and officious. The greatest threat to humans is other humans. Stop this nonsensicall attack on a happy family and concern yourselves with crimes that have actually happened!! What's next...are you going to start arresting people in July because they may pose a driving threat on New Year's Eve? Swinton shouldn't pretend they have community safety at heart...this is an ignorant piece of legislation based on foolishness. Shame on this town. The world is watching you!!
Guest#474 Mar 14, 2016, 10:45
The judiciary system is way out of balance over these issues.
Stricter measures should be taken for repeat offenders not innocent animals

This poor dog doesn't need to be out down! Why is this system so back to front?! He's clearly a loving dog!! Would you put an old lady down, for having Dementia and becoming violent which they so often do in fear that she may hurt her grandchild - No! So why do it to a poor defenceless animal who has shown no signs of aggression what so ever!!?
