Yes. It interrupts patient care when we nurses have to hurry our visits to get back to the vehicle on time. I had family members of patients stay outside to watch the car to prevent getting tickets; patients moving their cars for me to park and running back in the house to hurry the visit; patients canceling visits because nurse is late because of parking issues; nurses canceling visits because of parking issues.
I'm so sorry for the Manhattan nurses who have to be on foot struggling with a 30 lb bag and going from train to bus. Walks can be three or more blocks. Imagine bad weather?
Law makers you are humans too. One day you may need home care services. We need to serve the public better. Why permit parking for other disciplines even when they are not on the job. Please consider nursing.
