My husband was deployed and keeping contact wasn't always easy (especially if he was out in BFE with no cell service) But, wifi was sometimes available and he would send little notes when he could which always made my day 20x's better. I would really hate to go through another deployment without this since it really was such a wonderful application that brought so many happy messages to me and brightened my day up everytime I used it.

I don't get why they made a big deal of this. So a bunch of kids sent 3D penises to each other, so what? It's what kids do, it's not your job to regulate their activities, it's their parents'. All you had to do was slap on a "content rating does not apply to online activities" thing that everyone and their mom does to prevent potential lawsuits and you're safe.

BRING BACK SWAPNOTES/LETTERBOX!! :(

I am a 50 yr old female gamer. I NEVER misused Swapnotes, & I made sure everything I sent was appropriate for my younger friends to view. In the 19 mos I had Swapnotes, I had 1 request for a pic of my body from a foolish 14 yr old boy. He got no pic of me, but he did get deleted. I felt at that time there should have been a way to report this boy & have him banned from using Swapnotes. I looked forward to notes so much, from great friends I'd made all around the world. I can't Streetpass ANY of them! It was horribly unfair to take one of THE BEST features of the 3DS away from ALL of us! Make this right, Nintendo! :(

Aside from block/report, they could have also just disabled the picture function rather than disable spotpass itself... I feel like Nintendo didn't really think this through and they just chose the easiest way out rather than exploring other options...

Very sad to see Swapnotes shutdown it was a very great app for the 3DS where new friends could keep in touch & share events,topics 7 gaming in a healthy way.Though some unknowns have abused the structure & rules of swapnotes to ruin it for those who were using it in the way it was intended. So now it leaves the 3DS & it's owners in a disappointing place! I hope Nintendo will find a solution or fix to bring back the beloved Swapnotes back to the responsible fans. Now I miss that blinking blue light.

SWAPNOTE Is Wonderful

Such an AWESOME feature - one of the best Nintendo ever came up with (aside from Streetpass) - and now it's gone! It's an innocent little application that my friends & I used to send holiday greetings, pet pics, garden photos, meal pics, and Animal Crossing New Leaf updates to each other. What a rotten thing to happen, all over a few bad apples that had to use something so innocent to behave offensively. Grow up! ..Meanwhile, they just did a big update on Swapnote not that long ago. Where's the sense? *shakes head* Surely, this behavior wasn't a recent development.

Unfair!!

Here's what pisses me off..and I'm sorry,I'm not trying to offend anyone. I had a young guy who wanted to swap friend codes and i had no problem with that,but please tell me why he was allowed to ask me if I wanted to see his you know what...and my friend contacted Nintendo over a year ago and they are just now addressing it? Come on Nintendo....where was the help when we needed it? And this person is still asking to be added to his friends list. I'm appalled!!

Now buying a 2DS or 3DS is a complete waste of time and my hard earned CA$H. I HATE YOU NINTENDO. Why couldn't the parents who complained just delete the friend codes of the bad people??
