It's about time the government started to listen to the public. Come the general election they will get a big shock because the lesser known parties may get a larger piece of the pie (metaphorically speaking)

Have any other countries offered us financial support to help farmers, business people and others whose lives have been affected by the severe flooding? Charity should start at home - and not only for the flooding but to support the whole infrastructure of this country - our roads are a disgrace and there are so many other areas where we need to spend our own money!!

this is so shameful that people in the 21st century should be living with 3ft of water in their house when we send 11millon to other countries isn't it about time our own should come first.

Too much of our money is being squandered abroad. We need some of the aid budget to help flood victims in our own country and to improve flood defences in the future.

foreign aid
There should be no need for this petition. Aid should be diverted from abroad to home with immediate effect. It should have been done days ago, no question. Why does the PM put this country at the back of the queue? I suppose there is more for him to gain by cosying up to foreign powers at taxpayers expense. A picture with wellies on at the waters edge will do for them.

The sooner UKIP have a turn at governing the better. They couldn't possibly do any worse than the conservatives. There is a need for charity abroad and we have a duty to care but only after the home countrys needs are cared for. Does any one know if the MP's read these polls or are aware of the publics wishes?

The obsession that the Conservative Party have with Overseas aid is the main reason I will not vote for them again. Any diversion of this money to help UK flood victims is very much welcomed.
