I would like some one to answer my question 'Why is aid given to far away countries in the first place'
is it to i.e If the current government stop giving to the countries they will stop any UK companies doing business,which is more like it - I'm plus lots more UK people fed up to the teeth of our money being spent on other countries and not our own about time this changed give money to NHS,Police, to name but a few I could go on about giving money to us UK citizens but as usual no one is interested only if it benefits them in the long run no way will be voting for any party they all tell lies

MEMBERS OF PARLIAMENT TOO BUSY BLAMING OTHER PARTIES FOR EARLIER SPENDING CUTS. THEY VISIT THEN GO HOME TO THEIR DRY MILLION POUND PLUS HOMES.

Excellent way of portraying the strong feelings of the British people.

I can't believe the government can give our money away when our own people are suffering greatly, losing their possessions and businesses. I always believed charity began at home. Does David Cameron really think he is going to win the next election, if he does I fear it will be only because a huge amount of the population will not bother to vote.

Instead of giving money to foreigners why not give it to our own to help with the flood damage.

Charity begins at home. British people really need the help. When there is a major incident abroad we send millions in aid, have other countries sent us any aid?

Not everything is governed by money, if nothing is done now things will only become worse.
For once do the right thing and use the overseas grant to help the people that created it in the first place, it's our money not yours!!!

Should not need a petition, but, as this issue drags on it is now imperative to support our farmers and rural and urban people affected by the unprecedented and unusual conditions.

this overseas aid is going to countries who are practising space programs they no longer need our hand outs look after our country first charity at home first please

Money should be spent in this country and not sent abroad where it is not spent on what it has been sent for. There are so many needy people in this country.

By ensuring the best possible environment exists within the UK to serve the culturally tolerant and generous UK citizens we can best build a nation that can offer even more aid to other needy nations. Diverting aid to meet British needs is an investment in a better future for both Britain and the World. future

It's about time sending billions abroad was rectified and we concentrated on spending British tax payers money in Britain!

Charity should begin at home. Whilst I appreciate there are many countries in need of financial aid from Great Britain at this moment in time it is our own citizens who are suffering the misery caused by the flooding in many parts of our country. £11 billion is an outrageous amount to spend on overseas aid when some of it could be used to help our own people.

It's about time sending billions abroad was rectified and the government spent British tax payers money in Britain where it belongs!

I think we should stop foreign aid until we have put our own house in order i.e .stop relying on what the Great Victorian Engineers did for us.Start by the defenses around our coastline.Dredge the rivers on a regular basis.The most important thing of all send all M.P,s to the university OF LIFE!!!

why dont those in power ask people on the ground what they think should be not in there own flood area instead of these so called consultants who at the end of the day no very little about the areas flooded
