shame on all the freeloaders in the so called "elite" that allowed this avoidable catastrophe to happen , if they only did the job that they are supposed to do , what they were elected to do. stop all foreign aid until we have the hospital,s schools prisons and infrastructure that we have paid for and promised .. the question as to bribery and corruption its not only in the countries that get foreign aid . remember the m.p.s expenses scandal!!!

Charity begins at home. British charity abroad has made beggars of recipient nations and hindered the development of industrious self reliance in the emerging nations.

Aid money should not be sent abroad to be miss appropriated, but should be diverted to help our own people, and be used to rebuild our own infrastructer such as making sure rivers are flowing correctly drains and sewage pipes are big enough to carry away large amounts of water and the transport system particularly the parts that are subject to flooding are strengthened and made fit for purpose.

keep up the good work, the people that need it, will get the help,not public officiails diping in to the money pot.

Mr Cameron, The U.K. needs the U.K ....give OUR Money to OUR people this time.

Stop building on flood plains. Dredge the rivers. Divert the money we give in aid to India and China, and help our own people.

i believe that charity begins at home and make sure we have a very good health service for all. good schools available to all and retired people get a good pension so as not to be afraid to heat their homes in the winter

Why when the rest of the world is in trouble with disasters, Brits are very generous an immediate in there response, donations are winging there way to that area. UK no indication of an appeal or government help after a month?!

When this country is making financial cutbacks in Police , Armed Services, Civil Servants and making drastic cuts backs in welfare, little or no response when peoples homes are flooded – why are we 'giving away' £12 billion in overseas aid. We should take a strong look at this and reconsider our position. When things are better – yes we could reinstate aid to those countries that deserve it - not countries that have space programmes.
Remember – it is the working people of this country that produce its wealth.

I have been a collector for Christian Aid for 30 years and the British people have been generous, but I am dreading the responses I will receive when knocking on doors in May this year.

When i give to Charity, it is my money. Cameron should remember that it is not his money that is being given away in excess to aid.

Too much money is given to third world countries and this petition is raising awareness of the situations nearer to home

I have always supported Disaster aid when a disaster occurs abroad. It is right. Permanent handouts are not. Now we have a disaster right here in England and we need to support aid for that.

Stop sending aid to India, Pakistan and China as they do not require it as it does not get to where it is needed.

Overcrowding on our small Island will also make this situation worse in the future.

If we stopped all the money for aid abroad for 1yr and spent it on people who need and deserve it I n this country it just might be a better place for our young people to great grow up in.
