 Our February break was nicer than what this week may end up being!  The breaks have nothing to do with what weather we will have.  That is up to God!  What the breaks do allow is time to refresh the minds of everyone who is involved in education.  School is tough!  The breaks are nice!  And for the person who said, "who wants to do anything in cold weather?"  I could reply with, "Who want to do anything in hot weather?"...

reconsider the aug 1st start date for the 2011-2012 start date......no changes this coming year

I am one of the Douglasville votes...I keep my grandchildren that live in Cobb and I support the balanced calendar....

 This is very interesting DATA!!  I am sick of people saying that changing the calendar is about saving money.  Clearly it is NOT.

 No, it is not about saving money...and the data only goes to December.  It will be interesting to see how much was saved in February.

After duplicate responses were removed - only 5,669 people voted for the Aug. 15th calendar. It sure would be nice to have more signatures than that on this petition. Keep telling people about it!

As a student, I know what it is like to have nonstop working days. I believe it is unfair for us to go so long without a break. It is not right, and most teachers feel the same.

I appreciate the action you have taken to allow us to be heard. I have been most disappointed in the fact that our voices were ignored. But your action gives us a chance to join with others who have felt that same disappointment with our representatives.

We, the people of the United States of America and Cobb County, in order to form a more perfect union, and establish justice, wish to have our voices heard.
"WE WANT THE BALANCED CALENDAR!!!!"

The August 1st calendar was the first good decision the school board has made in a long time. Now they just want to go back to the deplorable old schedule.

Angelucci looked like a fool tonight at her town hall. No credible evidence to back her position - unbelievable!

There is no data to back this decision and now the new board members are being called out!! I wonder what they will do tomorrow...Listen to the people they represent??

Please do what is best for our children's education and restore the balanced calendar!

The August 1st calender worked much better. It gave the kids the break they need and working parents have more flexibility scheduling their time off work.

I can't believe after overwhelming response supporting Aug. 1st calendar that these 4 board members just want to ignore it and table it for now!!!

This issue for me is not just about vacation time. Its about saving our county money, its about teachers and children not getting burnt out. The board needs to listen to what the constitutes want. Isn't that what they are there for?

Tim Stultz left me speechless. Please pass this along to everyone you know if you are as outraged as I am about his comments. I want all Cobb parents to hear his comments.

The calendar was approved for 3 years. The survey showed that parents and students prefer this calendar. You need to keep this calendar. Students need the breaks.
