Too many stressed and lost animals, even one died trying to get out of the gate to escape the noise. It terrifies them. Clearly those using fireworks are inconsiderate people!

This is just not bad for animals, I had a panic and anxiety attack on New Years Eve because of this, and worst was we had to try and calm down our dogs as well, so my husband had his hands full#26: -

No more lives should be lost or anyone injured so that you can listen to loud bangs that intrude on my peace and well-being. If you want to see pretty lights light up a sparkler...they don't make any noise! You make up a small minority that negatively affects a large minority. Stop being selfish with no regard for life...too many have died at your hands! This is not a war zone and I will do everything humanly possible to put a stop to it. Most animals are terrified of fireworks and I don't see the need to put them through that. And some people think it's funny to torture animals with fireworks.

My dogs can't thate the sound of fireworks and many dogs ran away or injured themselfs to get away from the baning of fireworks. Robbers also used the noise to bom an ATM in Hartebeespoortdam

I am sick and tired of our municipalities ignoring the realities of dangerous fireworks. We need to protect our animals, children and the environment from the devastation that is fireworks. Every year at Divali, Guy Fawkes and New Year's Eve (now extended to New Year's Night by the Cuty of Joburg!) animals are terrified, lost, hurt and killed due to fireworks. Children who don't understand the dangers pick up unexplored fireworks and have their hands blown off. It is time fireworks are banned completely.
