Auckland: The City of Sails

This new slogan is ridiculous and was a waste of Ratepayers money

I don't think it should change. City of Sails totally depicts what Auckland is all about.

It's the only slogan best suited for Auckland!!

I strongly believe that we are the city of sails and money time etc spent on a change to that is wrong. The new one put forward is rediculous and detrimental to Auckland

Totally disagree with the new suggested name and see no need to change from the Ciry of Sails or spend ratepayers' hard earned funds on this frivolity.

Auckland City of Sails is already a fantastic brand for our city. I'm sickened at the thousands spent on a new brand which is not needed and indeed has produced an awful result. What a waste of taxpayers hard earned money - there are so many other needy areas the money spent on this frippery would have been far better spent funding. Stick with Auckland City Of Sails, it's evokes a splendid & accurate image & draws big tourist & marine industry dollars. If it ain't broke, don't fix it!

I am gob smacked, Len Browns slogan and now this one. Are these people bored or trying to find some sense of self importance creating a slogan. I shake my head in despair of the waste mentality.

I disagree with the council spending that much on a slogan. I don't like the slogan. I think we had a perfectly good one in City of Sails

Stupidity rears it's head again. The last time Marketing changed this they used Triangle TV's logo, they do not have carte blanche to waste taxpayers money and this moronic move and waste of money makes me incredibly mad.

Because that money could've been spent on something else more needy

"The City of Sails" perfectly describes Auckland (as (I believe) there are more boats per capita than any other city in the world and sailing is very much part of our lives (even though i don't sail personally!). It is a timeless slogan.

Because its what we are

I am signing this petition as a ratepayer who is sick and tired of the powers who think they are something wasting our ratepayer money. There is so much that needs doing to improve infrastructure, shelter the homeless and upgrade schools = for heaven sake spend the money where it is needed and not on some hair brain "good idea". I think the people that dreamed this up should be named and held accountable.

City of Sails is excellent for Auckland. Please do not change

When there is inadequate transport infrastructure, homelessness and poverty, spending money on a new brand is wasteful and socially irresponsible. The City of Sails slogan is already available and serves the purpose well.
