The faster this is resolved, the better. It is a hassle for my sisters and many others to make it to school with these weather conditions.

The flooded tunnel is also causing traffic chaos in Maidenbower.

It's about time Network Rail sorted this out, it causes major problems with 100's of extra cars going into & out of Maidenbower. Totally unacceptable.

I have shared this on my fb! It is definitely worse than it was. We thought at the end of 2012 when they closed it for works that it was getting sorted then. It is now causing disruption to so many peoples lives, something needs to be done now!

I have to take my Daughter to Oriel High School and the traffic around Three Bridges his really bad and then I have to take my youngest Son and Daughter to St Margaret's School straight after and the kids are always late because the flood is that bad even for wellies. This has put a lot of people out esp the student because some parents are at work so the student have to walk all the way round. Kind regards Clare

My son is severely sight impaired and will be attending this school in the very near future..This will be the only route he could take so he can still have some independence in getting to school, if this flooding is going to be an on going problem then can you advise how he will get to school ?

Network Rail are looking at a permanent solution with the support of the County Council. While we have had exceptional and record rainfall over the last two months (over half the average annual total for Crawley), the frequency, severity, and the prolonged nature of the flooding is causing a real inconvenience to a large number of people.

There is a commitment to sort out this problem and I am working with the County County and Network Rail to get the permanent solution we need. While this petition will not speed up the work we need done, it is useful for Network Rail to see for themselves the number of people who are being adversely affected and the strength of feeling.

Thank you to Hiba for posting it. I will write to Network Rail and link back here so they can see it.

The flooding of the tunnel, is affecting my children's education as they are often late for school and have to walk from furnace green all the way round three bridges to get to maidenbower to school. There must be something that can be done to ensure that all the students from furnace green can attend oriel high school.

This has been happening for years every year,i live in tilgate and work in horsham,i cant spend over an hour each morning to get to and from maidenbower,i sent my children to oriel knowing they had that acces to the school,it not only effects their education by being late,it has a knock on effect on everyone,i really hope this gets resolved,as everyone just seems to pass the buck.
