Google the Fatima Church in Islamabad, an aesthetic gem. Also St Thomas Church in Islamabad is a very nice church, both recently built as well. Christianity is not against the law, approximately 2% of the population of pakistan is Christian, However I fail to seen what bearing the policy of the pakistani government has here anyway. Sudafed is illegal in Japan, does that mean it should be illegal here? You cant wear a mask in Denmark so should that be the case here too?

Ah to the charmingly named "fuck off" no tax payers money is being used for the mosque and it would actually help stimulate the economy due to materials and labour needing to be purchased. if it is a £2 million pound mosque, at least 20% of that will be going to government through VAT and the other money for labour will eventually be spent, possibly in the local area.

Stop this nonsence before it gets out of hand. Just take a look at the area which has developed around the Sheffield Mosque - you have Asian gangs running brothels exploiting young white Europeans, and forcing out people who have lived and traded there for many years. The whole area has been transformed into a total slum and a no go area for many.

I have nothing against moderate & genuinely religious muslims but I couldn't get planning permission to buid a tower of any description, let alone a minaret, so this building should not be allowed. They should be content with an inconspicuous building that would blend in with the surroundings. NO DOMES OR MINARETS!

This is York, a beautiful english city, why should we have a mosque with all that entails. I lived and worked in a nice part of Sheffield for many years and returned recently for the first time in quite a while. I could not beleive how much it had changed. I could have been in Afghanistan, not a white face to be seen all the shops displaying arabic. Stop it now or my old home in Sheffield will be soon seen in York.

I'm neither for nor against. I think everyone has a right to their own religion and beliefs. However, I believe the plan for the building will be out of character for York, therefore I am against the building, not the religion.
