It's be an almighty stupid thing to do because the people of Stalybridge will then have to travel to Ashton to sort out bank emergencies.
Keep it where it is. :-)

If the bank moves to Ashton it will be very difficult for the elderly and disabled people of Stalybridge, not everybody has access to a car!

I have banked here for over 25 years and if this branch closes I will be moving banks to Natwest as going into the centre of Ashton to do banking is not convenient for me.

I feel its important for Stalybridge the staff and the customers it is hard for the older generation, mothers and people without transport to get into Ashton and not everyone can acess the Internet and not all processes can be done via Internet.

Times have changed the only time I have been into a bank in my 28 years was for a morgage and I only visited store twice online banking is the future with a cashless society I'm afraid its a shame for the elderly n disabled to gain access to cash or services.

It was my very first bank as a child "Yorkshire Penny Bank". Got our first mortgage from them in 1970. Lovely bank!

Yorkshire "Penny" Bank was my first savings bank as a child. Got our first mortgage there in 1970. Such a great bank for Stalybridge.

I started banking with the Yorkshire Penny Bank whilst still at school 48 years ago - how's that for loyalty - Pity the Yorkshire Bank can't share the same

Because the Stalybridge branch is a very convenient bank and we have lost too many amenities locally.

It was originally the Yorkshire Penny Bank when I was encouraged to start saving 65 years ago. Our Grandchildren and Grest Grandchildren should be given the same opportunity on their doorstep.

I signed this petition because even though I live in Sandhurst, Berkshire, I visit Stalybridge regularly. The nearest branch to me is Central London so I use Stalybridge when I visit. There aren't enough branches as it is!

I have used this bank since i was 16 years old, I'm 53 now and it is local easy to get to and park, my mother who is 89 uses it too and it would make it incredibly difficult for her to go to in another town.
It's a great bank, great staff, please do not move. JC
