I am fed up of living in fear. 1 should be think twice about leaving your house to go anywhere cause its so unsafe. Never mind the people that breaks into your home. We should not live like this and something really needs to be done

I grew up in Mitchell's Plain and still have family living there. I want to be able to feel safe and free whenever I visit them. It is unfair that gangsterism and crime should deter us from living a peaceful, happy life.

Because I too am getting sick and tired of the escalation of crime in and around ALL the areas of Mitchell's Plain,as well as All the other Cape Flats Areas.Its about time the Government does something to help us.We,the Communities of ALL Affected areas,are fighting a losing battle.WITHOUT the help of the necessary resources from the Government,we as Communities CANNOT help ourselves get rid of the vermon that's destroying our kids..so ..Mr President and all Members of Parliament-.PLEASE hear our cry!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Why did you sign this petition? I am sick of being afraid I'll be shot or robbed if I walk out of my house ! And I'm tired of hearing gunshots like its a norm ! This IS NOT NORMAL! I am tired of living in fear. People are being killed near my children's school, my church, my work place, my home, at my family's place, the shops. My kids don't walk home from the bus stop because they might be shot or robbed or kidnapped. Why must i move when I voted for a government who promised me peace?!

One cannot live in fear in the place you call home. The majority cannot be ruled by a minority who comprises of individuals using various methods of crime who intends to feed off hard working and respectable people who are striving to make this community a better place. I've signed the petition in good faith; trusting that local and national authorities as well as safety officials would here the plea of the people and step up in helping us create a safe and prosperous environment for our current generation and future generations to come.

I grew up in Mitchells Plain,my parents and the rest of my family live there and i want it to be a safe place for our children.I worry all the time about my family.Something must be done about crime in the area its ridiculous the way these criminals operate,they have no regard for the law at all.

We not safe in our own homes any more, having to keep gates locked at all times. We are prisoners in our own home not fair. Please have a heart and help us do something, our kids are dying people living in fear and government living a dream life dnt care how many people and kids dying day by day.
