Soy sordo de nacimiento y primer profesor de Lenguaje de Signos Catalán en España.
Tengo seis hijos, cuatro sordos y nueve nietos, cinco sordos.
Ex presidente de varias comunidades sordas.
Deseo ferviente que los sordos tenemos y debemos tener mismos derechos, tanto en el trabajo como en la educación y comunicación.
Pagamos mismos impuestos que los oyentes y debemos tener descuentos en todos los impuestos. El Gobierno no debe aprovechar de la minúsvalia abonando igual que los demás.
Creo que con esta información será en balde por los años que sigo sín estar compensado...

Aunque en Argentina ya lo tenemos incorporado en parte me uno a la petición.

Espero que el mundo madure en ciertos aspectos como para poder hacer la convivencia más placentera. Todos tenemos derecho a mejorar intelectualmente. Eso nos hace mejores personas. La educación es lo primero que debemos construir para todo el mundo. Sin educación mo hay buena convivencia. Es el derecho y la obligación que nos corresponde como personas racionales.

I totally agree. Sign language is part of Deaf Culture, it is Deaf's natural language, so as like any other Language, it should be part of Educational programmes since primary school until University.

Please read the United Nations's universal declaration of human right, more specifically, article 2.

Denying deaf people to communicate in sign language in educational programmes is denying their human rights and freedoms. Moreover, deaf people cannot receive information in the normal channels, therefore, they rely on receiving information visually. Sign language is a visual language. Without that, deaf people will struggle with language developments, which results further language delays. That will cause averse impacts on deaf person, deaf community, and the society.

As a mother of a Deaf myself,I know that there aren't many programs for our children. Often parents settle with whatever program is available even if they don't meet their needs....Deaf education needs to improve ASAP.

Sign Language is a MUST in education for the Deaf! NO CHILDREN LEFT BEHIND ACT states that the children have equal oportunities in learning unfortunately, many people do not want to comply with LAW.
