Urgent Fund Raising (R50 per month)

Detailed Update: From the 7th November 2023 when the mayor approved the rezoning application, there is a time deadline of 180 days by which any legal challenge has to be made. As of today, 16th Feb, we are at DAY NO. 102. We reached out to a highly recommended lawyer specialising in these kinds of cases, with a good track record in cases, including a high profile case featured in the media recently.  The documents for a meeting are ready and it is imperative that a meeting is organised before the end of the month.  We can only proceed if we reach sufficient funds - our target is to get 200 people from the community to commit to a R50 per month contribution, which will give us a R10 000 per month budget to start the legal process.  Initial funds raised will go towards the first meeting with the lawyer, after which we want to start the litigation process and register a Non Profit Organisation (so the litigation is done by a separate legal entity, to protect community members).  The first R3 000 raised will be allocated to the first meeting with the lawyers and then the next priority will probably be the NPO registration.  Anyone willing to assist with a monthly commitment or or once off donation, please complete the donor information form:  We issue a unique ‘membership number’ to each person (to be used for EFTs) and will be completely transparent in declaring all donations received by each member number, as well as all expenses made. We can’t do this without your help - nogmaals dankie vir U ondersteuning!  Maarten Krüger
