Update to the supporters

Kia ora koutou,

We are still working hard to get keep our tamariki safe when they’re walking to and from school. Last year we submitted our petition to council and spoke in front of council. Clearly this hasn’t made much change as the council continues to delay action but there is light at the end of the tunnel. Shout out to Council Members Gavin Benney and Scott McKenzie for their unwavering support.

To celebrate the start of the school year, I’d like to ask you each to reach out to the following members of council. Below are their names and contact information. Tell them how you feel about the importance of school signage and reduced speed limit by Ngunguru Primary School and don’t let them delay this any further. Send them a sentence or a paragraph but send them a message! If you don’t have time then use the suggested text below.

Last year I signed a petition to install school signage and reduced speed limit near Ngunguru Primary School. As you know the current roading infrastructure, which includes no signage along Ngunguru Road alerting drivers of our school and no corresponding speed limit reduction is unsafe for our tamariki. I am disappointed to learn that since receiving the petition the council has made no concrete steps to  make these changes and keep our community safe. I urge you to take action now!
