Extend the 'Safe Routes to School' Network

Commissioners are onboard but awaiting a resolution from Public Works

I wanted to update everyone who supported this petition and let you know that it was submitted with a draft resolution to the Klickitat Co. Commissioners on Sept. 8. I checked back on the 15th and they said they were awaiting review and an official resolution from Public Works and would probably approve it if Public Works was onboard.

So thank you all for your support. This can also set a precedent for future expansion of the Safe Routes to School network. The designation will be a great asset for our schools and our community, and may help with grants for the schools, the new pool, and materials for the Safe Routes network itself.

I'll let you know when we have the official designation.
