Urgent in Prangins: Save Vineyard Plot No. 379!
For the Long-Term Preservation of Plot No. 379 in Prangins
In recent days, the vines on plot No. 379 in Prangins have been in the process of being uprooted. This development has raised many questions among local residents about the future of this land and the role it will play in our living environment.
We are aware of the challenges facing viticulture today. The economic difficulties of the sector are real and deserve consideration. However, these difficulties should not lead to questioning the essential purpose of this space in favor of future urbanization.
Plot No. 379 represents a precious green space between Prangins and Nyon. Beyond its use for viticulture, it contributes to the quality of the landscape, local biodiversity, and the well-being of residents. It serves as a natural breather in a region under increasing land pressure.
Efforts to make parts of this plot constructible have been discussed in the past. In this context, we wish to express our commitment to the long-term preservation of this site and our desire for it to remain non-constructible, regardless of how its use may evolve in the future.
Through this petition addressed to the Municipality and the City Council of Prangins, we request:
- to reaffirm the importance of preserving plot No. 379 as a green space serving the community;
- to maintain its non-constructible status and oppose any change in designation that would pave the way for future urbanization;
- to consider the landscape, environmental, and social value of this land in any deliberations about its future;
- to transparently inform the public about projects or proposals that could have a lasting impact on this plot.
This initiative simply aims to remind us of the importance of preserving open spaces that contribute to the unique character of our region and the quality of life of its residents.
By signing this petition, we affirm our desire for plot No. 379 to remain a non-constructible green space, today and for future generations.
