Stop Coercive Telecom Expansion: Protect Our Homes and Private Land

Petition Title: Protect Our Homes: Say No to Forced Telecom Infrastructure on Private Property

To: The Senate Standing Committee on IT and Telecommunication, Government of Pakistan

We, the undersigned, stand united to defend the sanctity of our homes and our fundamental right to own and control private property.

We are deeply concerned by the proposed Pakistan Telecommunication (Re-organisation) (Amendment) Bill 2026. While we recognize the importance of national digital development, we firmly refuse to accept progress that relies on the violation of constitutional property rights and the intimidation of citizens.

We are taking a stand against:

Forced Installation: We reject any legislation that allows telecom operators or state entities to bypass the voluntary consent of private property owners when installing infrastructure.

Coercion: We will not be blackmailed, threatened, or pressured into selling or leasing our land under the guise of "national interest" or "Right of Way."

Unsolicited Notices: We reject the premise that automated letters, messages, or notices sent to us constitute a legal agreement, "implied consent," or a "Right of Way." No notice, whether replied to or ignored, should ever be used to override our property rights.

We demand that the Senate Standing Committee:

1. Mandate Explicit Consent: Ensure that no telecom infrastructure including towers, fiber optics, or equipment can be placed on private land without the express, voluntary, written consent of the actual property owner.

2. Stop Coercive Tactics: Explicitly prohibit any corporate or government tactics that attempt to pressure or blackmail property owners into land sales or access agreements.

3. Respect Privacy: Recognize that our homes and private land are not public assets for corporate use. Any legislation must prioritize the rights of the property owner above the convenience of infrastructure providers.

Our Stance:

Our property is our own. It is our most significant investment and our personal domain. We are not against digital connectivity, but we refuse to accept a law that treats citizens as obstacles to be brushed aside.

We urge the Senate to rewrite this bill to ensure that national progress is built on a foundation of mutual agreement and respect for the law, not on the intimidation of property owners.

Sign this petition to tell the Senate: My property is mine. Do not force, do not coerce, and do not trespass.
