 To be devils advocate, the simcoe bus does already leave simcoe street at the lake and goes up cedar to loop back around.

 yes it does, thats the loop to get back on Simcoe to now go north bound. if it didnt leave simcoe it would drive right into the lake. and all the while it is going through the loop it is dropping people off at home and picking people up who need to get to simcoe.  It has travelled that route over 40 years great route.  i have found out recently its  long long over 40 years it has travelled this route.  The ritson travel is not a loop.  it has no logic to it at all.
