I want a reliable and truthful government, who will provide basic necessaries, security, water, electricity, roads, jobs, pensions, affordable education and health care for all, care for the elderly and those unable to care for themselves.

I've retired age 44 due to medical resons, a year ago been brutally assaulted which left me with several permanent damage to spine and limbs. Last year now currently carry buckets and drums of water made it more than worse. Can't get to hospital neither afford a private doctor. Living alone without any help while services as water supply not to mention all others, are non existant makes me more depressed as I've work 26yrs of my life for this country. It truly breaks my heart about how poor we have became with money which can't buy what we used to have

Change is necessary and somebody has to make this country work efficiently.
Guest#29 Nov 15, 2015, 19:55
There is no excuse for this incompetence.
The municipality is clearly unable to provide the basics and keeps offering the same ridiculous reasons year after year.

I sign this petition because i want to see change in the way the metro and eventually this country is being run
Guest#31 Nov 16, 2015, 05:20
I believe in its cause, and this is one way of actively participating
Guest#32 Nov 16, 2015, 09:04
Because the reasons for the water problem are true and someone needs to change the way things are run.
Guest#33 Nov 16, 2015, 09:08
Think Rand Water and Ekurhuleni should be held accountable for what they have done to us
Guest#34 Nov 16, 2015, 11:16
Sick and tired of lack of delivery of basic services by our local municipality amd the ANC as a whole
Guest#35 Nov 16, 2015, 11:30
Last time there was a water shortage we were without water for two weeks! Now our neighborhood again was forced to live without running water for an entire week. I believe that the right to water is a basic human right and the government should have guarded against infringing my right by maintaining the reservoirs properly!
Guest#36 Nov 16, 2015, 13:05
I signed this petition to make our local as well as national government aware of the crisis we experienced the past week and for them to take the necessary actions in order for this not to happen again. As a loyal ratepayer, I belief we have the right to uninterrupted water supply at an acceptable pressure in order to live a productive, civilised life.

To emphasize the neglect of water facilities country wide.
Guest#38 Nov 16, 2015, 13:10
Because you do not get answers council what is happening and we were without water from Monday the 9th to Friday the 13th. This weeks City News did not even have any article on the problem. The more people that sign might bring home to Metros and Rand Water Board that they must start doing their jobs properly

WATER is a basic need!

This is the second time we have gone down this waterless road!  It is totally unacceptable.  Funny how its always a surprise!  Damn does no one ever check up on these things?  Sit back and wait for the taps to run dry ... this is pathetic, contigency plans would be the order of the day, but instead its always "Oh dear now what"

We need to enforce Accountability within the municipality & Rand Water!  As a community we need to DEMAND yes DEMAND explanations. If they are not capable of running the water affairs then they should admit such and let the professionals step in and lead the way!

They receive enough money on a monthly basis from all of us .... so why do we find ourselves in this precarious situation time after time!!!

WE PAY & YOU DON'T DELIVER!!! UNACCEPTABLE

Well done SA let's stand together for what are our rights!
Guest#41 Nov 16, 2015, 16:24
Because I have personally been affected...in Sept 2014 for a full week & now for almost a week. It's got to be managed better
Guest#42 Nov 16, 2015, 17:29
I pay rates and taxes and expect a service for my HARD earned money,
Guest#43 Nov 16, 2015, 18:12
Because its about time that the government wakes up & addresses Important Issues & Not Always blame The Colonialists & then Deny that there is No Problem, they Need to Do Maintenance & Fix their water leakage Problems as Thousands of litres of water is wasted by broken taps, leaks in roads etc.., this is Not a racist issue, its just Incompetence.
Guest#44 Nov 16, 2015, 18:24
Do not believe Ekurhuleni water waste is at 37% .. more like 50%.
Guest#45 Nov 16, 2015, 22:58

The service from Ekurhuleni isn't good at all. If we didn't had help from contacts at Ekurhuleni we would still be stuck with a broken watermeter en tree that was struck by lightning on our sidewalk.
