I feel that the vote had confusing messages. That multiple issues were addressed with the same vote which seems unethical to me.
The vote should spell out what the costs are exactly to each member asking to vote for this radical dues request.
In my opinion, no monthly dues amount should ever exceed the amount the worker makes in 1 hour of labor.
I also disagree with trying to create a fund to cover wages during a strike. That idea would only foster complacency to stay home and collect a check instead of being on the picket line demanding they see the workers that are not happy with a contract et-al.
Please do better SEIU.
