there is nowhere decent for the kids in leith to skate ... unless they get on a bus for an hour and go to saughton!

Such a vibrant city like Edinburgh with a hugely over subscribed skatepark like saughton could do with a few more options for the skate and Bmx minded. A take on copenhagens skate spot/ playground model would be ideal if not a full blown skatepark.

Skateparks bring communities together and they are good because you can do your stunts in them instead of doing them somewhere less safe.

this is an excellent idea, the one skatepark we do have is very oversubscribed and clearly shows demand outstrips supply on the west of the city, so why not have a park on the north east of the city too.

The recreational facilities in Leith are sadly lacking compared with other parts of the city. Leith children deserve better

I want the children of Leith to have more recreational facilities. Leith is very neglected compared with other up market areas of Edinburgh

Leith is always left behind when it comes to facilities for kids. First the council shut down Waterworld, then the money for the revamp of the play park in the links disapears. Leith seriously needs something like this. All the kids at my sons school have skateboards including him. Give Leith some love for a change.

Leith's children and young people need far more facilities than they have. A skate park would offer social and health benefits, as well as a creative outlet.
