as chairman of the Carmarthenshire Fishermen's federation I can tel you. from bitter experience that NRW and their predecesors EAW are expert at prevarication and fudging the issue, they will sidestep this matter as long as they can then change tack to further delay any progress.

I seems that Governments just aren't interested in the plight of wild salmon. Once they've killed them all off and the supermarkets have flogged off the last carcass, then the world food market will become even more reliant on their farmed rubbish. And with no anglers left on the banks to bemoan the wild fishes' fate, they'll be free to pronounce how much they've cleaned up the environment, salmon being so cheaply available etc. etc. Cynical? You bet I am!
