I am a teacher and many of our pupils don't get the time to do homework as they have to go home and look after siblings and clean while parents are at work. It bacomes very stressful for the teacher as well. I have a granddaughter in grade 1 and I can't believe the amount of homework they get - big fight every day.

The children do enough work in class to still do 2 hrs or more at home is ridiculous!
